Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21, 1983) is a famous American actor. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents, she left Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. While struggling financially she landed her first role as Rachel's Room's main character the online video show Rachel's Room in the year 2001. In 2002, she was nominated for a Young Artist Award with her character as a 15 year old murdered Martha Moxley. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main role for two seasons, and was awarded an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. The show ended in 2005 and Grace would like to be on film more frequently, having played opposite Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. She starred as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) on Suburban Girl and The Jane Austen Book Club. The actress reprised her character as Kim Mills in Taken 2 (2011) and Taken 3 (2013).She also played Alice in Malice in Wonderland, a contemporary adaptation to Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. The actress portrays Faith as a groupie as well as a model for the stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister to actor Jake Gyllenhaal. She began her career in the teen years with minor roles in several of his films. She also appeared with her brother in the popular cult film Donnie Darko (2001). Then she appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romantic comedy drama Secretary (2002) as well as the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her an Golden Globe Award nomination. After a string of commercially successful films, including World Trade Center in 2006 she gained greater recognition in the role of Rachel Dawes (the superhero) in The Dark Knight (2007). Following her acclaimed performance as an unmarried mother of Crazy Heart (2009), she earned the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She then played in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 In addition to her role as an agent of the Secret Service agent, she has also appeared on screen in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). One of her most recent roles include as the main character of the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal wrote and directed her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The drama about psychological issues won the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
